Hospitals care for victims of mass shooting in California

Los Robles Regional Medical Center treated 11 people injured during last night’s mass shooting at a bar in Thousand Oaks, Calif. One patient, a sergeant with the Ventura County Sherriff’s Department, died and the others were treated and released from the hospital’s trauma center. “Our hearts are with the family of slain Sgt. Ron Helus and with his extended family, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and with all of the victims of this tragedy,” the Thousand Oaks hospital said in a statement today. Eight victims were treated for minor injuries at Adventist Health Simi Valley, and three victims were treated for minor injuries at Dignity Health’s St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard. Kaiser Permanente – Woodland Hills Medical Center also treated victims. Thirteen people, including the gunman, died from the shooting.
