The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has extended to June 30 the application deadline for its new Oncology Care Model, which seeks to provide better and more coordinated care at a lower cost to Medicare. Physician practices and payers who submitted timely and complete letters of intent are eligible to apply. Participating practices will enter into payment arrangements that include financial and performance accountability for episodes of care surrounding chemotherapy administration to cancer patients.
