The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently revised the application process for the Medicare Shared Saving Program to give accountable care organizations more time to apply to participate beginning Jan. 1, 2022. Click here to view the new application steps and timeline.

CMS also has extended through Dec. 31 the implementation period for its new Kidney Care Choices Model, which seeks to incentivize care management and kidney transplants and delay dialysis for beneficiaries with end-stage renal disease and chronic kidney disease. Participants will now begin the model’s first performance year on Jan. 1, 2022.
