Ahead of ACA open enrollment, HHS quadruples navigator organizations

The Department of Health and Human Services today, in advance of the next ACA open enrollment period, announced a major expansion of the number of federally funded navigator organizations. For the 2022 plan year, 60 navigator awardee organizations will receive a total of $80 million in grants to help train and certify more than 1,500 navigators. Navigator awardees, which include hospitals, associations and other nonprofits, provide assistance to people with limited English proficiency in several languages, as well as to rural areas and communities of color. Awardee organizations will be under contract through 2024 and cover 30 states with federally facilitated marketplaces.
