HRSA increases Healthy Start grants for doulas
The Health Resources and Services Administration will provide $4.5 million in supplemental funding to increase access to doula services in communities with high rates of adverse maternal and infant health outcomes. Participants in the Healthy Start Initiative to eliminate disparities in perinatal health may apply for up to $180,000 each in supplemental funding through May 31. HRSA expects the funding to double the number of Healthy Start doula programs to 50.
