Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, and Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Wisc., former co-chairs of the Cyberspace Solarium Commission, yesterday asked Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra for a briefing on the status of HHS efforts as the sector risk management agency to protect the health care and public health sector from cyber threats through stronger collaboration with the private sector.

“We remain concerned … about the about the lack of robust and timely sharing of actionable threat information with industry partners and the need to dramatically scale up the Department’s capabilities and resources,” they wrote. “With cyber threats growing exponentially, we must prioritize addressing the HPH sector’s cybersecurity gaps.”
