DHS releases guidance for public charge final rule effective Dec. 23

The Department of Homeland Security Dec. 19 released policy guidance for the Public Charge Ground of Inadmissibility final rule. The final rule excluded noncash benefits, such as the Children’s Health Insurance Program and most Medicaid benefits, when making a public charge inadmissibility determination for noncitizens requesting admission to the United States or permanent residency
