Reminder: Medicare to pay for REH outpatient care beginning Jan. 1

Starting Jan. 1, 2023, Medicare will pay for Medicare-enrolled Rural Emergency Hospitals to deliver emergency hospital, observation and other services to Medicare patients on an outpatient basis. To help you prepare for this change, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Medical Learning Network has a fact sheet on the final conditions of participation and payments for REHs.
