House passes continuing resolution

The House Nov. 14 voted 336-95 to pass a continuing resolution (H.R.6363) that funds the federal government through early 2024. Four appropriations bills would be funded through Jan. 19, with an additional eight appropriations bills funded through Feb. 2. The Senate is expected to pass the legislation before current government funding expires on Nov. 17, avoiding a government shutdown. Importantly, the legislation would delay Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital cuts through Jan. 19, while extending until then authorizations for community health centers, the National Health Service Corps, and Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education. The legislation also would delay cuts to the Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule, which would otherwise take effect Jan.1, and extend the physician payment work Geographic Practice Cost Indices floor for 2024.
