The AHA today voiced support for the Rural Hospital Support Act (S. 335), legislation that would make the Medicare-dependent Hospital program and low-volume adjustments permanent. It would also add an additional base year for MDHs to choose from when calculating their Medicare payments. The bill is sponsored by Sens. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Peter Welch, D-Vt.
