The government shutdown is expected to continue into next week as the Senate is expected to adjourn Oct. 23 with no plans to vote this weekend. The chamber Oct. 22 failed for a 12th time to advance the House-passed continuing resolution to extend government funding. The House remains out of session with no plans to return at this time. Lawmakers remain at an impasse. The AHA will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
