AHA Healthier Together Conference concludes with sessions on AI, person-centered care

The AHA wrapped up its inaugural Healthier Together Conference in Dallas May 14 with a plenary session on how the application of artificial intelligence-driven tools and data insights is advancing community health. Speakers Jennifer Hall, Ph.D., chief of data science and analytics at the American Heart Association, and Roberta Levy Schwartz, Ph.D., executive vice president and chief innovation officer at Houston Methodist Hospital, discussed promising AI innovations and potential pitfalls with Chris DeRienzo, M.D., AHA chief physician executive.

Other closing day highlights included breakout sessions on collaborations to improve rural, behavioral and youth health; innovative approaches to social needs screening; and ways to strengthen person-centered care by integrating caregivers into Age Friendly Health Systems.
