CMS approves NH Medicaid waiver with work requirement

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services last week approved a Section 1115 Medicaid waiver that will transition New Hampshire’s Medicaid expansion premium assistance program to Medicaid managed care, and require able-bodied adults to work or participate in other “community engagement” activities such as job training at least 100 hours per month to remain eligible. CMS authorized a work requirement for the premium assistance program in May.
