CMS issues updated snapshot of open enrollment activity through Nov. 26, 2016
More than 2.1 million people selected a health plan through HealthCare.gov Nov. 1-26, about 97,000 more than during the same period last year, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced today. Three-quarters of those selecting plans were renewing coverage and the rest were new consumers. Thirty-nine states are using HealthCare.gov for 2017 open enrollment, which runs through Jan. 31. Consumers must enroll by Dec. 15 for coverage starting Jan. 1. CMS plans to update the estimates every two weeks during the open enrollment period.
