CMS issues updated snapshot of open enrollment activity through Dec. 32, 2016

More than 8.7 million people selected a health plan through HealthCare.gov Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced yesterday. Three-quarters of those selecting plans were renewing coverage and the rest were new consumers. Thirty-nine states are using HealthCare.gov for 2017 open enrollment, which runs through Jan. 31. The enrollment update includes data on plan selections by state and for top Designated Market Areas, which are local media markets.
