Virginia enrolls first 182,000 adults under Medicaid expansion

More than 182,000 Virginia adults have enrolled in coverage effective Jan. 1 under the state’s Medicaid expansion and thousands more are eligible, Gov. Ralph Northam announced yesterday. State lawmakers approved a bipartisan compromise in May that will expand Medicaid coverage to as many as 400,000 low-income uninsured residents.
