Several Louisiana health systems have jointly launched MyChart Central, creating the first statewide, unified patient portal experience. The coordinated effort supports residents in accessing their medical records, communicating with providers and managing care across hospitals, clinics and parishes using a single ID. “Being first in health care technology is another example of Louisiana leaning in to improve health care for our entire state. Too often, the burden is placed on the patient, and I’m thankful that many of our health systems teamed up, worked together and made an aspect of health care easier on our patients,” explained Louisiana Department of Health Secretary Bruce Greenstein.
Louisiana health leaders say the statewide rollout simplifies care navigation for the more than 2.5 million Louisianans already using MyChart. By consolidating information across organizations, patients no longer need multiple logins or fragmented portals.
