A Focus on Health Equity and Coverage
The Institute for Diversity in Health Management in collaboration with the AHA's Hospitals in Pursuit of Excellence, Equity of Care and Hospital Engagement Network 2.0 hosted a webinar focused on health equity and coverage. Cara James discussed the CMS Office of Minority Health equity framework as well as the agency's first equity plan entitled, CMS Equity Plan for Improving Quality in Medicare. She also provides an overview of the ongoing CMS initiative, From Coverage to Care, which is designed to help Americans understand health coverage options and make the most of primary care and preventive services available to them.
In addition, Lori Marshall and David Davis shared Children's Hospital Los Angeles' journey toward health care equity. Marshall and Davis will explain key strategies related to starting and implementing their hospital's journey to health equity. In addition, they share steps all hospitals can take to make sure health equity is embedded in their work.
