CMS updates Medicare/Medicaid conditions of participation for HH agencies
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services yesterday released a final rule implementing significant changes to the requirements for home health agencies that participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Among other changes, the rule expands the standards for patient rights, patient assessments, care coordination and HHA personnel. It also requires HHAs to have quality assessment and performance improvement programs and enhanced infection prevention and control practices. The final rule takes effect July 13.
