Secretary of Veterans Affairs David Shulkin, M.D., will address the 2017 AHA Annual Membership Meeting, on Monday, May 8. Confirmed by the Senate as VA secretary this month, Shulkin previously served as VA under secretary for health since July 2015. His diverse health care background includes service as a physician, chief medical officer and hospital and health system leader at Morristown Medical Center and Atlantic Health System in New Jersey. While president of Morristown Medical Center, he served on AHA’s Regional Policy Board 2.
