Wright named acting HHS secretary following Price's resignation
President Trump Friday named Don Wright, M.D., acting secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Wright takes over for Tom Price, M.D., who resigned as HHS secretary earlier Friday. Wright has worked at HHS for nearly 10 years, most recently serving as the department’s acting assistant secretary for health. Wright’s prior roles at HHS include deputy assistant secretary for health and director of the office of disease prevention and health promotion. “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the American people and the Administration in this role,” Wright said. “I look forward to ensuring that the important work of the Department in support of the President’s agenda continues to move forward during this interim period.”
