Cigna, Express Scripts Announce Merger Agreement
Cigna Corp., which offers commercial health insurance as well as Medicare Advantage and prescription drug plans, plans to acquire pharmacy benefit management company Express Scripps in a transaction valued at about $67 billion, the organizations announced today. A federal appeals court last year blocked a proposed merger of Cigna with health insurer Anthem.
