Employment at the nation's hospitals rose by 0.24 percent in November to a seasonally adjusted 5,228,200 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. That's 12,700 more people than in October and 118,000 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 5,238,700 people in November – 18,500 more than in October and 119,800 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment was unchanged in November at 3.7 percent.
