AHA replay on using Z codes to document social determinants of health
AHA has released a replay of its March 12 webinar on using Z codes to document social determinants of health, a valuable but underused tool for hospitals to improve the health and well-being of their patients and communities. Speakers Nelly Leon-Chisen, AHA director of coding and classification, and Julia Resnick, senior program manager at AHA, review the official guidelines for coding social determinants of health and share how ICD-10-CM codes can play a pivotal role in hospitals’ efforts to improve population health.
