AHA has released a replay of its March 12 webinar on using Z codes to document social determinants of health, a valuable but underused tool for hospitals to improve the health and well-being of their patients and communities. Speakers Nelly Leon-Chisen, AHA director of coding and classification, and Julia Resnick, senior program manager at AHA’s The Value Initiative, review the official guidelines for coding social determinants of health and share how ICD-10-CM codes can play a pivotal role in hospitals’ efforts to improve population health.
