AHA announces Next Generation Fellows

Thirty-four emerging hospital and health system leaders from 20 states will participate in the inaugural class of the AHA’s Next Generation Leaders Fellowship, working one-on-one with a mentor on a yearlong project to drive transformation and innovation to address a specific challenge at their organization.

“The coronavirus pandemic is changing health care forever. And our health care leaders must drive that change,” said Andy Shin, chief operating officer and senior vice president for the AHA Center for Health Innovation. “These fellows have an opportunity to shape the teams, organizations and systems of the future. They will join a cohort of peers and some of our country’s most innovative leaders both in and outside of health care to shape their own unique leadership signature.”

The class includes 12 John A. Hartford Foundation scholarship recipients, who will implement the 4Ms Framework for Age-Friendly Health Systems at their organization for their change project in the fellowship program.
