Senate panel reaches tie vote on Becerra nomination for HHS secretary
The Senate Finance Committee today voted 14-14 along party lines on President Biden’s nomination of Xavier Becerra to be the next Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Committee Chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore., said he will notify the Senate secretary of the tie vote under Section 3 of Senate Resolution 27, which allows either the Senate majority or minority leader to call the matter up for debate before the full Senate.
