The American Medical Association last week published eight new Current Procedural Terminology codes for providers administering COVID-19 vaccines. The codes are used to report Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and immunization administration for the tris-sucrose formulation; Pfizer COVID-19 immunization administration booster doses; and Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and immunization administration booster doses. The CPT codes for the Moderna vaccine will be effective upon it receiving emergency use authorization or approval from the Food and Drug Administration.
