CDC: Corticosteroids, antibiotics generally not recommended for COVID-19 outpatients
COVID-19 treatment guidelines do not recommend using systemic corticosteroids to treat outpatients with mild to moderate COVID-19 who do not require supplemental oxygen, or antibiotics to treat COVID-19 outpatients unless recommended for another condition, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reminded clinicians yesterday, citing data suggesting their use in COVID-19 outpatients had increased. The advisory updates health care providers, public health departments and the public about the availability and use of recommended therapies for COVID-19.
