AHA releases guide to building a community health worker program

The AHA today released a guide offering research, resources and case studies to help organizations build a community health worker program to strengthen and sustain their health care workforce. CHWs are community members who serve as connectors between health care providers and consumers to promote health among groups that have traditionally been underserved.
