Guides offer strategies on preparing for public health emergencies, cybersecurity incidents
Two AHA guides offer strategies for hospitals and health systems in preparing for public health emergencies and disasters and managing cybersecurity incidents. “Strategies for Medical Surge Management During Public Emergencies” organizes strategies around the four S’s — staffing, supply, space and systems — a framework to protect patients, support teams and sustain critical operations when they are needed most. “Strategies for Cyber Preparedness in Health Care” helps hospitals and health systems manage disruption, safeguard patients and ensure continuity of care when cyber incidents occur. Both resources are part of the Convening Leaders for Emergency and Response initiative.
