CDC issues reminder on ending of the emergency authorization for COVID-19 in vitro diagnostics tests
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a reminder Oct. 14 that the declaration supporting the emergency use of COVID-19 in vitro diagnostics tests will end Dec. 26. The December end date marks the end of a 180-day transition period from the end of the COVID-19 emergency use authorization declarations announced June 30. The EUA declarations were issued in 2020 to accelerate access to medical products during the COVID-19 pandemic.
