The median annual net launch price for new prescription drugs increased 35% from 2022 to 2025, to $257,000, according to a report released by the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review and West Health. Nearly 25% of drugs in 2025 launched above $500,000 and 34% launched between $200,000 and $500,000. The groups found that even if drug characteristics impacting launch prices remain constant, such as product type, therapeutic class, and orphan or ultra-rare status, launch prices may continue to increase.
