AHA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Maryjane Wurth today participated on a panel as part of the Center for Health Management and Policy at the University of Miami Business School’s conference on “The Business of Health Care: Technology & People: U.S. & Beyond.” Among other issues, Wurth spoke about AHA’s efforts to help hospitals and health systems transform, “Medicare for All,” and the Department of Justice this week telling the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that it should affirm a district court decision that struck down the entire Affordable Care Act. Wurth emphasized that AHA opposes the DOJ decision because millions of Americans would lose the health coverage they have relied on for years. Also participating on the panel were leaders from the American Nurses Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association, Medical Group Management Association, America’s Health Insurance Plans and the American Medical Association.
