Hospitals Add 9,300 Jobs in February

Employment at the nation's hospitals rose by 0.18% in February to a seasonally adjusted 5,143,400 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. That's 9,300 more people than in January and 86,300 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 5,136,800 people in February – 11,800 more than in January and 86,700 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rate was unchanged in February at 4.1%.
