CMS discontinues Medicare Advantage demonstration for clinicians

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will discontinue the Medicare Advantage Qualifying Payment Arrangement Incentive Demonstration due to low participation, the agency announced last week. Included in the physician fee schedule proposed rule for calendar year 2019, the demonstration exempted clinicians who participate in certain payment arrangements with MA organizations from the Merit-based Incentive Payment System’s reporting requirements and payment adjustment.
