Hospitals Add 6,800 Jobs in July

Employment at the nation's hospitals rose by 0.13% in July to a seasonally adjusted 5,181,900 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. That's 6,800 more people than in June and 94,800 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 5,188,700 people in July – 14,800 more than in June and 95,400 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rate fell by 0.1 percentage point in July to 3.9%.
