SAMHSA announces tribal grants to combat opioid addiction
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration yesterday awarded grants to two tribal organizations in Alaska to increase access to mental health services and medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorders for teens and young adults. Tanana Chiefs Conference is expected to receive about $5 million over five years to address serious mental disorders and $700,000 over two years to increase access to MAT. Fairbanks Native Associations is expected to receive $500,000 for MAT.
