The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services encourages hospitals to review their results from its “dry run” test of a new claims-based outcome measure for the inpatient quality reporting program in fiscal year 2018. Hospital-specific reports on the measure, “excess days in acute care after hospitalization for heart failure,” are available through Oct. 7 at QualityNet. Questions about the measure may be emailed to cmsedacmeasures@yale.edu. CMS also will present the measure’s methodology and answer questions during a Sept. 22 call for hospitals, quality improvement networks and other stakeholders.
