Thomas Yackel, M.D., president of MCV Physicians at VCU Health System, Richmond, Va., will chair AHA’s Committee on Clinical Leadership in 2021.

Daniel Handel, M.D., vice president and chief medical officer for the south central region of Indiana University Health, Indianapolis, will serve as chair-elect.

Joining the committee in 2021 are: Gaurava Agarwal, M.D., director of physician well-being for Northwestern Medical Group, Northwestern Medicine, Chicago; Kevin Dishman, M.D., senior vice president and chief medical officer for Stormont Vail Health, Topeka, Kan.; Leon Haley, M.D., CEO of UF Health Jacksonville, Fla.; Joseph Hardman, M.D., chief medical officer and chief clinical integration officer at Tuality Healthcare, Hillsboro, Ore.; David Lopez, chief operating officer, Parkland Health & Hospital System, Dallas; Robert McCann, M.D., CEO and chief of medicine for Accountable Health Partners, Rochester, N.Y.; Susan Robel, senior vice president of clinical operations and chief nursing executive at Intermountain Healthcare, Salt Lake City; Sylvain “Syl” Trepanier, chief nursing officer, Providence St. Joseph Health, Renton, Wash.; Gay Wehrli, M.D., director of clinical informatics for change management and utilization at University of Virginia Health, Charlottesville; Baligh Yehia, M.D., president of Ascension Medical Group, St. Louis; and Ena Williams, chief nursing officer at Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Conn.

The 26-member committee provides clinical input to the AHA advocacy and public policy process, serving as a clinical resource on policy issues and guiding the ongoing work of the AHA Physician Alliance
