Senate confirms Becerra as HHS secretary
The Senate today voted 50-49 to confirm President Biden’s nomination of Xavier Becerra to be the next Secretary of Health and Human Services.
AHA expressed support for the nomination in recent letters to the Senate Finance and Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committees, citing his efforts as California Attorney General to protect the Affordable Care Act and as a former member of the House of Representatives to champion health care coverage and affordable health care.
