The Colorado Hospital Association today named Maryjane Wurth its interim president and CEO. Wurth, who was AHA’s executive vice president and chief operating officer from 2016 until she retired in 2020, will lead CHA for the next several months while its Board conducts a national search for a permanent president and CEO.

“Maryjane is one of the most respected health association executives in our field, and she is a great choice to lead CHA during this transition,” said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. “She’s a great partner and will provide thoughtful and strategic leadership. I look forward to working with her to support our Colorado members.”

During her tenure at the AHA, Wurth oversaw the creation of the AHA Center for Health Innovation, revamped the business model for AHA’s for-profit subsidiary, and led a task force that identified new ways to engage hospitals and health systems in the work of the association, among other critical initiatives.

Before coming to the AHA, Wurth was president and CEO of the Illinois Health and Hospital Association. Earlier, she served as COO of the Healthcare Association of New York State, as well as president and CEO of HANYS Solutions, Inc., the association’s for-profit subsidiary.
