The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices today recommended a single booster dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for 12-17 year olds at least five months after receiving a second dose. The CDC director will now consider whether to endorse the ACIP recommendation.

The Food and Drug Administration on Jan. 3 authorized a single booster dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for 12-15 year olds, in addition to the previously authorized 16 and 17 year olds.
