Podcast: Acclaimed journalist documents the systemic and structural racism that impact women’s health
In AHA’s newest Advancing Health podcast, recorded for International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, Priya Bathija, AHA’s vice president of strategic initiatives, talks to journalist and author Anushay Hossain about the health care experience of women, particularly women of color. Hossain discusses her book, “The Pain Gap: How Sexism and Racism in Healthcare Kill Women,” which documents her own trauma of giving birth, along with systemic and structural racism that impact women’s health.
