AHA responds to House request for feedback on stabilizing MACRA programs

Responding this week to House members asking how Congress could improve physician payment under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015, the AHA encouraged statutory and regulatory efforts to advance and flexibly implement value-based and alternative payment models.

“For example, the extension of APM incentive payments, additional investment in resources for rural providers, and updates to the physician fee schedule to support more inclusive definitions and updated metric methodologies … would all encourage higher rates of APM adoption among hospitals and health systems,” AHA wrote.
