The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services approved Medicaid state plan amendments for California and Kentucky to provide 24/7 community-based mobile crisis intervention services to eligible individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, as authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act. Four other states have expanded access to community-based mental health and substance use crisis care through ARPA.
