Senate to consider continuing resolution funding government through Nov. 17 

The Senate Sept. 26 voted 77-19 to begin debate on a continuing resolution that would continue funding for government programs through Nov. 17. The Senate is expected to vote on the measure this week. Among other provisions, the CR would delay Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital cuts and extend authorizations for community health centers, the National Health Service Corps, and Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education for the duration of the CR. The House is expected to either introduce its own CR or amend the Senate version. Thus, a shutdown of government on Oct.1 is still likely.
