Congress passes continuing resolution funding government through early 2024
The Senate Nov. 15 voted 87-11 to pass a continuing resolution (H.R.6363) funding the federal government through early 2024, avoiding a government shutdown when the current CR expires at midnight Friday. The CR, which cleared the House Tuesday, funds four appropriations bills through Jan. 19 and eight appropriations bills through Feb. 2. Importantly, it also delays Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital cuts through Jan. 19; extends authorizations for community health centers, the National Health Service Corps and Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education until Jan. 19; delays 2024 cuts to the Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule; and extends the physician payment work Geographic Practice Cost Indices floor for 2024.
