Dr. Sanjay Gupta talks prevention, future of AI in medicine

During a Q&A with AHA Immediate Past Board Chair John Haupert at the AHA Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., Sanjay Gupta, M.D., chief medical correspondent for CNN, author and neurosurgeon, highlighted the need to learn more about brain health and how it can be measured. Gupta also discussed the surge in diabetic drug use for weight loss, the importance of backing up that use with a healthy lifestyle and combating misinformation in health care. He said artificial intelligence should be treated under a "trust, but verify" model in health care, as the technology is intended to "fill gaps" and can sometimes be incorrect.
