Lake Charles Memorial Hospital has launched Mission Move Well, a systemwide initiative built on the Arjo MOVE framework to support patient mobility, strengthen staff response and improve patient safety. Introduced in June 2025, the program equips clinical teams with evidence‑based tools, training and support to ensure that every patient movement is safe, appropriate and dignified. “Lake Charles Memorial is committed to maintaining an environment where safety is embedded in every action we take… Mission Move Well reflects our dedication to making every patient aided movement safe and dignified,” explained Gerald Bryant, chief nursing officer at LCMH.

The initiative aligns with LCMH’s broader organizational goal of achieving zero injuries for patients and caregivers by standardizing mobility protocols, boosting equipment utilization and advancing staff education. By reinforcing a culture of safety and prioritizing intentional, informed movement, the hospital aims to improve patient outcomes and streamline care delivery across all departments. “Throughout our health system, we believe that any investment in patient safety is not just worthwhile, but critical to proving the quality care that our community expects and deserves,” said Devon Hyde, chief executive officer at LCMH.
