The South Carolina Department of Public Health reported Feb. 27 that the state’s measles outbreak is at 985 cases, up six cases from Feb. 24. Nationally, there have been 1,136 confirmed measles cases reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since Jan. 1. Cases have been reported by 28 jurisdictions. There have been 10 new outbreaks in 2026, with 90% of confirmed cases being outbreak-associated. The vaccination status of 92% of cases is unvaccinated or unknown.
